Trees for Troops
Dulls Tree Farm is the pick up site for all the trees donated by Indiana tree growers. Growers from across the state donate 210 trees to be delivered to military bases stateside and overseas. The trees headed to Bahrain and Kuwait will be packed and shipped out by FedEx, who donates all the shipping, on November 24th. The stateside trees will be shipped to the Great Lakes Navel Station on December 2nd. Nationwide over 18,000 trees will be donated to military bases stateside and overseas in 2009.
Statehouse Tree Program The Indiana Christmas Tree Growers Association donates trees that are placed in several statehouse offices including the Governor's office as well as the Lt. Governor's, Dept. of Education, Dept. of Natural Resources, Dept. of Forestry and the Dept. of Agriculture office. The rotunda tree is also donated by our association. In 2008 our tree was displayed in the Department of Natural Resources office. In 2009 the Statehouse trees will be set up on December 14th.
